The performance took the structural form and theoretical concerns of “tragedy” in theatre as a way to interrogate notions of “the present.” I elaborated on the relationship between the event and its aftermath through luck rituals, repetitive gestures and telling anecdotes which gradually interweave and become scenes for new action. Its delivery oscillated between dialect and formal address, as well as improvisation and an accumulation of small gestures. To be performed with a video reel, twelve grapes, newsprint, a loop pedal, a clothes raile, red wine, cooking timer and hula hoops stretched with black mesh.
